EDI experts needed to help improve diversity among screen industries businesses

The work of the Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) is informed and shaped by the values of equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI). A new funding call from the SIGN has been launched to address the lack of diversity in and among screen industries businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber. The EDI Consultant Call offers experienced consultants, practitioners and creative freelancers the opportunity to apply for up to £10,000 to work with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, providing guidance, knowledge and expert support to address these  challenges.

Wendy Sissons, SIGN’s Internships and Bursaries Manager, said, ‘This is one of a number of initiatives and interventions SIGN is providing to support individuals and businesses in the screen industries. The work that SIGN does around EDI is so important and underpins everything we stand for. We know that, for many businesses, this opportunity will bring great benefits to them and their teams.’

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an initial audit with businesses and design a bespoke plan to tackle mutually agreed key areas over the course of the consultancy period. These areas could include assisting with the development of an EDI policy, supporting an EDI strategy, or informing inclusive recruitment processes and practices.

Applications for the call close at 5pm on Friday, 18 November, 2022. Find out more and apply.
