SIGN bursaries are financial awards to support those who face challenges getting into and getting on in the screen industries in Yorkshire and the Humber.

The bursaries scheme will support people who identify as disabled, LGTBQ+, are from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, women, those entering the sector who are aged over 35 and those who are from underrepresented ethnicities.

Applications are open to individuals in these groups who want to take up employment or training related opportunities in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Read the Bursaries guidance document to understand exactly what’s covered and whether you’re eligible.

Applicants may already work in any of the screen sector industries – film, tv, games or other digital media, are looking to get into these industries, or may already work in the sector but who want to progress to a different specialism, discipline or sector.

Bursaries are available in the following categories:

  • Accommodation
  • Access to training or coaching
  • Caring costs (childcare, care for elderly dependents or others)
  • Driving lessons or driving tests
  • Equipment (including software)
  • Subsistence (eg clothes for interview)
  • Travel

Awards are available from £40 to a maximum of £1000. Evidence will be required to support your application.
