Early Career Researchers (ECR) Network

About the scheme

The aim of the SIGN Early Career Researchers (ECR) Network is to bring together early career researchers to establish a community of scholars of the screen industries.

The ECR Network provides support in:

  • Career development for early career researchers
  • The development of publication strategies and writing practices
  • The enhancement of research ideas and projects (eg helping identify collaborators and approach funding calls)
  • Facilitating the exchange and development of teaching resources

Who the scheme is for

The ECR Network is for early career researchers who wish to develop their careers in academia, research and teaching and skills. This could include PhD researchers, postdoctoral researchers, independent researchers, people new to research but not necessarily in an early stage of their career, and teaching staff interested in developing their research skills.

We welcome those interested in researching different perspectives of screen industries (ie film, television, video games, animation and other digital industries), from the political economy of specific screen industries to creative labour, cultural policy and audience studies.

SIGN welcomes expressions of interest about being involved in, and supporting the development of, the ECR Network.
