Placements, Internships and Insights

SIGN offers guidance to Yorkshire and Humber-based SMEs operating in the screen industries looking to host a placement, internship or insight (work shadowing) opportunity, with a focus on supporting those from diverse backgrounds who are currently under-represented in TV, film and games. This includes individuals from ethnically underrepresented heritages, those who are disabled, women, those joining or returning to the sector who are aged over 35, those who identify as LGBTQ+ and those from lower socio economic backgrounds.

Work experience opportunities are beneficial to both businesses and individuals. They allow companies to fill talent gaps, improve productivity, drive innovation and share knowledge. It also gives individuals an opportunity to experience working in a professional environment whilst learning and developing new skills.
