Short courses

SIGN’s Skills and Training short courses are here to help businesses and professionals develop skills and adapt to our changing sector. These courses are free, open to anyone working in the screen industries, and delivered online via zoom.

Previous SIGN short courses have covered leadership, social media, presentation skills, creativity, team building, remote working and confidence building.

Since the pandemic, the work culture has shifted to more distanced working and the demands of the workplace have changed significantly. Our short courses aim to provide screen industry professionals with the training to develop soft skills that are vital in the industry.

In the Screen Skills Assessment survey, the largest demand in skills were for soft skills. Over half of the employers questioned wanted better organisation (53%), interpersonal (50%) and leadership skills. The move to remote working was felt by 74% of all employers as the move online demanded better communication and leadership.
