The Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) is delivering a series of free 8-week online courses in 2022. The courses will help screen industry professionals in the Yorkshire and Humber region to develop skills and navigate the next steps in their careers.
After successfully running in 2021, Working in Sound: Beginners returns next year for another intake of participants. Led by producer and engineer, Aiwan Obinyan, this course is for women and people of marginalised genders who want to explore music technology and the moving image for the first time.
Each lesson will be delivered online through a series of live sessions covering technologies and techniques, careers information, and advice about working with sound in the screen industries. Sessions take place every Tuesday from 7pm – 8.30pm, online via Zoom, from 8 March to 26 April. This course is created by SIGN and Yorkshire Sound Women Network (YSWN).
For participants with more experience, Aiwan Obinyan will lead Working in Sound: Experienced. This course is for women and people of marginalised genders who already have some experience of working with audio technology and who are looking to develop a career in sound. Sessions take place online every Thursday from 7pm – 8.30pm, running from 10 March to 28 April.
