Researchers on Sustainability Stories, a project funded through the Screen Industries Growth Network’s (SIGN) Creative Futures call, will be running a two-day workshop to explore how creative storytelling can better communicate the criticality of climate change to the public, government policy makers and industry stakeholders.
Creating Critical Sustainability Stories, taking place at York St John University’s Creative Centre on Tuesday 31 January and Wednesday 1 February, is aimed at communicators from different sectors and SMEs involved in film, multimedia arts, advertising and immersive and interactive digital technologies.
On day one of the workshop, Dr Alexandra Dales and Dr Gemma Bridge from York St John University, and Dr Rory Padfield from the University of Leeds, will introduce attendees to production tools for developing critical and evidenced-based outputs exploring the challenge of sustainability and the climate emergency. On the second day of the workshop, the research team will train attendees on how to translate complex climate change issues into informed storytelling media content.
