Talent development programme for writers now open

Scratch Me, a free talent development programme for those who want to work with moving images is set to open for applications. The programme, which is launching in collaboration with SIGN, will take a group of writers and writer-performers through a two-month programme of workshops, mentoring sessions and writing challenges with a view to them developing a fully-formed character who has the potential to lead to a short film.

Applications are encouraged from comedians, spoken word artists, scratch performers, theatre makers, social media storytellers and DIY filmmakers based in the North of England. No formal filmmaking experience is required. At the end of the programme, participants will collaborate with a team of emerging filmmakers to create a short scratch monologue film which will be presented to industry executives at a special showcase event.

Scratch Me is a Film Hub North and BFI Network project delivered in partnership with Screen Yorkshire and the Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN).
