The Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) has recently awarded funding to three experienced practitioners who will work with SMEs based in Yorkshire and the Humber on projects and initiatives aimed at supporting their businesses to be more diverse.
Aaqil Ahmed (Amplify Consulting), Rebbecca Hemmings (Strawberry Words) and Leanne Dawson (freelance consultant) have received funding through SIGN’s EDI Consultant Call. They will be working with screen industries businesses in the region on various initiatives, such as recruiting a more diverse workforce, training in anti-racism, reviewing and updating policies specific to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and reaching and creating diverse talent pipelines. The three consultants will be working with SMEs until the end of June 2023.
The SIGN lead for this work, Wendy Sissons, said, ‘The work that SIGN does around EDI is so important and underpins everything we stand for. That’s why we’re delighted to be working with these experts to help better equip screen industries businesses in the region with the tools and knowledge they need to become more diverse, inclusive and equal in everything they do.’
