Industry Voices Screening and Q&A

3:00 pm - 24 Nov 2021

Online

Industry Voices is a co-production between SIGN (Screen Industries Growth Network) and Candour Productions. The series recounts the lived experiences of diverse individuals within the screen industries across the UK and explores their views on how things need to change within the film, TV and games industries. Contributors show the human impact of inequality, and bring the importance of intersectional understandings of their working and personal lives to surface.

This event is organised by the Inclusion, Diversity and Gender Network. The screening is followed by a discussion with Dr Beth Johnson, the creator and executive producer of the film series (for SIGN), chaired by Dr Michele Paule.

Dr Beth Johnson is Associate Professor of Film and Media, and Deputy Head of the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. She has recently co-authored Media Studies: Texts, Production, Context (3rd edition) with Paul Long, Shana MacDonald, Schem Rogerson Bader and Tim Wall (Routledge, 2021), and is currently working on a monograph entitled Class and Poverty on Popular Television: A Case for Change (E.U.P.).

Join the event online via Zoom.
