The Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) has launched a new fund to address skills shortages in the screen industries and the lack of a diverse trainer pool in Yorkshire and the Humber.
The SIGN Innovative Training Fund offers up to £20,000 to both new and established trainers and training providers to develop courses or workshops that tackle a skills gap or support the growth of a diverse workforce in the screen industries. Training courses developed from the fund will be delivered as part of the SIGN short courses series.
Successful applicants who are new to training provision will receive development sessions and coaching with the SIGN team to ensure they are able to work to a high level in training provision.
Pip Rackstraw, Skills and Training Manager at SIGN, said “We hope that this fund will address the lack of diversity in the learning and development workforce that is at the core of providing training to the screen industries. We look forward to working with those who want to change traditional methods of training and address real challenges in skills shortages in Yorkshire and the Humber.”
Applications close at 4pm, Tuesday 12 April 2022.
